Unexpected Error (Oops error/RPC Server is Unavailable) when creating TurboLaw documents

When creating new documents in TurboLaw, you receive an unexpected error message (the "oops" message), and if you click on "Show me the details of this error" the "Exception message" will say "The RPC server is unavailable" along with a numeric error code.

This problem will occur if you are using the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Office 2013.

TurboLaw (and Microsoft) recommend that users install the 32-bit edition of Microsoft Office 2013 (even if you have a 64-bit computer) unless you specifically need the features of the 64-bit edition:

"As more and more personal computers run 64-bit versions of Windows, it’s tempting to deploy the 64-bit version of Office 2013 to match. One benefit is that 64-bit Office allows users to work with larger sets of Excel and Project data. But, there are compatibility drawbacks for those users because Office add-ins and solutions might not work. That’s why 32-bit Office 2013 is recommended for most users."

"We recommend the 32-bit version of Office for most users, because it's more compatible with most other applications, especially third-party add-ins. This is why the 32-bit version of Office 2013 is installed by default, even on 64-bit Windows operating systems."

To resolve this problem, uninstall the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Office and install the 32-bit edition.
