How to Connect to TurboLaw Cloud from Mac OS X

On your Apple device, go to the App Store. In the search box at the top right corner, type in "Microsoft Remote Desktop" and press Enter.

Click Get in the tile for "Microsoft Remote Desktop" and then click Install App. The "Install App" button text will change to "Installing" during the installation process, and finally to "Open" when the installation has finished.

When the application has finished installing, close the App Store window and open your Finder application. In the left-hand column, click on Applications and scroll down to locate Microsoft Remote Desktop. It is recommended at this point to drag the icon for Microsoft Remote Desktop to either your desktop or dock, for easy access. When ready, double-click on Microsoft Remote Desktop.

When you first open Microsoft Remote Desktop, you'll see a "What's new" screen. You can check the "Don't show this again" checkbox, and then click Close.

The main screen for Microsoft Remote Desktop will now open. Click New at the top.

The Edit Remote Desktops page will now open, with the General tab selected. Enter "TurboLaw Cloud" for the connection name, and then enter the PC name, User name, and password you received in your welcome email.

Note: take care when entering your user name and password - they must be entered exactly as they appear in your welcome email. If you copy & paste from the email, make sure you don't accidentally copy a blank space in front of or at the end of your user name or password, otherwise it won't be an exact match.

Un-check the "Start session in full screen" checkbox, and check the "Scale content" checkbox.

Next, click on the Session tab at the top and check the "Forward printing devices" checkbox.

If you'd like to be able to save your TurboLaw documents to your Mac, click on the "Redirection" tab. Then, click the "+" button at the bottom-left of the window and give the redirected folder a name (e.g., "Documents"). Then, click the drop-down and choose "Browse" and select the folder on your Mac that you'd like to use. (You can view a more detailed article describing how to do this by clicking here.)

When you are done, close this window to return to the Microsoft Remote Desktop window.

You will now have a remote desktop connection named "TurboLaw Cloud." Double-click on this connection to launch TurboLaw Cloud.

If you need to make changes to your TurboLaw Cloud connection (for example, if you want to be able to save your files from TurboLaw Cloud back to your Mac but didn't set this up originally) you can click on your TurboLaw Cloud connection and then click the Edit button. Once you've done this, you can make changes to your connection as needed.
