List of all the available merge fields for statement templates

When customizing a statement template, there are a number of "merge fields" available that you can insert into your template. These fields contain the information about your statement that will be used when applying the template to your statement when it is printed or previewed.

statement_field_names.pngThis is a list of all the fields available, along with a description of what data they will display if used in your template.

  • amount: This is the dollar amount of a single statement line item (i.e., a bill or payment).
  • amount_0_to_30: This is the dollar amount of the client's "amount due" that is less than 30 days old (based on the client's terms).
  • amount_31_to_60: This is the dollar amount of the client's "amount due" that is between 31 and 60 days old (based on the client's terms).
  • amount_61_to_90: This is the dollar amount of the client's "amount due" that is between 61 and 90 days old (based on the client's terms).
  • amount_over_90: This is the dollar amount of the client's "amount due" that is over 90 days old (based on the client's terms).
  • balance: This is the running balance for the statement. For each line item on a statement, this contains the balance after that particular item is applied. For example, if a client starts with a $0.00 balance, and the first line item on the statement is a bill for $100.00, then the "balance" for that line item will be $100.00. If the next item on the statement is another bill for $100.00, the balance for this next item will be $200.00, and so on.
  • client_address: This is the client's name and address, combined into a single field.
  • client_id: This is the client's ID number. If you have set a custom ID for the client, that custom ID will be displayed, otherwise, it will be a number assigned by the program.
  • description: This is the description of the statement line item, e.g., "Bill #1001."
  • item_date: This is the date of the statement line item. For bills, this is the date of the bill, and for payments it is the date the payment was received.
  • matter_name: This is the name of the matter for a particular statement line item, if any. Some statement templates use this field to "group" items by matter.
  • myAddress: This is your address, as you entered it in the program's Settings window.
  • statement_date: This is the date of the statement (generally speaking, the date the statement was generated). You can set this date on the Create Statements window before you generate statements.
  • statement_date_range: This is the date range that this statement covers. Only items (bills & payments) which occur within this date range will appear on the statement. You can set this date range on the Create Statements window before you generate statements.
  • statement_footer: This is the text that appears a the bottom of statements. It is the same text that appears at the bottom of bills, and can be set via the Settings window.
