When attempting to create a new document for a case in TurboLaw, you receive an error message similar to the ones shown below:

Which error you receive will depend on whether you were trying to open a Word-based document or an Excel-based document.

This error occurs if Microsoft Word or Excel is not installed on your computer, or if you have the Click-to-Run edition of Microsoft Word or Excel installed.

To correct this problem, either make sure you have installed Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) on your computer, or if you have the Click-to-Run edition, see this article for how to switch to the "classic" edition instead.
